Art allows you to explore many themes and topics, using so many different mediums and processes - and Nature is one of the most popular! Our natural world, which envelopes us with inspiration daily, is understandably an art staple and I love the fact that everyone approaches it in their own unique way.
If you love when your creativity is inspired by nature, and want to perhaps refresh your outlook and try something new, check out the Skillshare classes below. These are five classes I have taken (or am taking) on Skillshare myself and enjoyed…and I hope you’ll enjoy them too!
Rosalie Haizlett
Whilst I love the results others can attain with watercolour, I have always felt a little at sea using it. However, I know that it is a matter of practise and that if I keep trying I will improve. The great part is that, even while I am not so skilled at it, I’m still enjoying the process.
Rosalie is an artist who brings a calmness and a wonder to watercolour, linking it into the natural world and inspiring you to look longer. This class is super popular and deservedly so.
Kimberly Crawford
Before trying this class it had never occurred to me to put ink onto a flower and take a print from it!
Kimberly has become a master of this process and creates the most delicate and beautiful designs using it. Sure, my first prints weren’t quite so delicate, but I really enjoyed playing with ink in a fresh way!
Liz Kohler Brown
I have taken a bunch of Liz’s classes and they are always so informative. This one introduced me to both the symmetry guide and animations in Procreate and made them very easy to understand.
Afterwards I had a lot of fun creating my own butterflies and letting them fly around the screen!
Tabitha Park
Skillshare classes are designed to be easily digested and this one, at only 17 minutes long, gives you a little nature boost of inspiration in your tea break.
I love taking photographs, and especially enjoy zooming in to take photos of nature - it not only gives you wonderful images to look back through, but also
provides little pockets of calm in your day.
Bianca Rayala
As a gouache newbie I am currently on the hunt for classes to help me get the best from the medium. I found this one and am enjoying working my way through it at my own pace. Bianca makes beautiful artwork and has a very clear teaching style - hopefully I’ll be able to make my own gouache landscape painting very soon!
A little shout out for Skillshare…
Before I was ever a teacher on Skillshare, I was a student. Why? Because I love learning new things and Skillshare has access to a whole bunch of them! It kind of blows my tiny mind that for one yearly fee, I am allowed to nip into thousands of classes, from artists and business owners who are sharing their passion and knowledge. I can take a whole class or I can pop in for just one lesson - the emphasis is purely on me and I set the schedule.
Another bonus is that on Skillshare you have access to the teachers too. If you are a student who likes to ask questions, you can go right ahead - you can create discussions or projects and get personal feedback from the teacher. But it’s also nice that, if you would rather not interact, there’s no pressure to do so. Learning on Skillshare is on your terms, and as a student I love the freedom of it.
Thanks for reading!
Keep making to make happy!
